About Us

A foundation built on purpose

876 Kids Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt organization dedicated to raising funds to support children in underserved communities throughout Jamaica. Our work focuses on improving access to education.

We partner with local organizations and community leaders to ensure support reaches those who need it most. Our goal is to create lasting, positive change for children and their families.

Our Mission

What drives us forward

“Our mission is dedicated to changing the lives of the disadvantaged children of Jamaica by providing them an opportunity for a better education.”

Education

Tuition, school supplies, uniforms, meals, and travel costs—removing every barrier to learning.

Community

Partnering with local schools and leaders to ensure support reaches those who need it most.

Opportunity

From primary school to university, opening doors that transform lives.

Our History

How it started

876 Kids Foundation was formed by a group of like-minded individuals united by a single purpose: help educate the children of Jamaica. Before the organization was officially registered, we worked together to raise funding to support individual students with school expenses—tuition, meals, travel costs, uniforms, and supplies.

We also helped fund schools with various needs including school supplies, sporting equipment, computer equipment, and much more. This work went on for many years before 876 Kids Foundation became a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization in October 2025.

The Foundation continues to support both individual students and selected schools going forward into the foreseeable future.

Lives we've touched

Jessie Brown at William Knibb Memorial High School
Featured Story

Jessie Brown

Jessie is a young man who matriculated from primary school to high school in the fall of 2025. He was brought up in a single parent home where his mother was frequently absent throughout his childhood. Given his living environment, he was unofficially adopted by a Good Samaritan who now looks out for his wellbeing.

His guardian reached out to the Foundation for help. Once we got involved, we were able to get Jessie into William Knibb Memorial High School. He is on the school’s track team and has shown significant improvement in his academics. The Foundation continues to support Jessie with school uniforms, extra lessons, and more throughout his educational journey.

Daniel Town Infant & Primary School

The Foundation adopted this school in Daniel Town, Trelawny. Last August we hosted a Back-to-School Fun Day on the school grounds, providing backpacks filled with school supplies, dental hygiene items, and a day of bouncy houses, snow cones, games, and music for every student.

Hurricane Melissa Relief

When Hurricane Melissa struck Jamaica in late October 2025, the Foundation mobilized immediately. We collected donations of cash, food, clothing, and necessities from the public and shipped a full 40-foot container of relief supplies to Jamaica.

Falmouth All Age School

Over the past three years we helped their track team travel to Miami for the annual Miami Classic meet—securing transportation, meals, and running spikes so students could compete at their best. We also donated backpacks for the start of each school year.

Growing up, going to school was never easy for me. There were times when I struggled just to attend classes because of financial difficulties. It was only my mother raising my two sisters and me, and providing even the basic necessities was a challenge for her.

Watching her work so hard made me realize early on that education was not just important — it was my only way out of poverty. From a young age, I understood that if I wanted a different future, I would have to fight for it through my studies.

Although I did not always have the best resources, I was determined to succeed. I studied at home with whatever materials I could find and pushed myself to improve. With the support of generous donors from 876 Kids, I received scholarships throughout high school, which allowed me to continue my education. In Grade 11, I completed 11 CSEC subjects, and in sixth form, I pursued eight CAPE subjects, earning mostly distinctions. Their assistance extended beyond tuition — they helped with school supplies, clothing, and other necessities that made it possible for me to focus on my education without constant worry.

That support continued when I began university in 2022 at the University of the West Indies. Without the assistance of 876 Kids Foundation, I do not believe I would have been able to start, much less continue, my studies. They have supported me with tuition, housing, food, extra classes, and even medical instruments required for my clinical rotations. Now in my fourth year, their continued support has made a life-changing impact on me. I am deeply grateful, and I look forward to the day when I can extend that same kind of support to someone else who is fighting for a better future.

Stability is something I have always searched for, something I have always yearned for. From a very young age, my life required resilience. After the loss of my mother, my grandmother became my main caregiver and the steady presence in my life.

By the age of twelve, I knew exactly what I wanted to become: a Maxillofacial Surgeon. For a young girl being raised by her grandmother, it may have seemed like an impossible dream. What did I know about becoming a surgeon? Very little except that I had a dream, faith, and prayers guiding me.

Then, during the COVID-19 pandemic, 876 Kids Foundation stepped in and changed the trajectory of my journey. They donated a laptop that allowed me to continue my studies and remain connected to my education during a time when so many students were struggling to keep up. That support meant more than just a device — it meant opportunity.

Over the years, the Foundation has continued to support me through school fee assistance, essential resources, and mentorship. Their guidance, encouragement, and belief in my potential have helped me remain focused on my dream even during difficult moments. Because of their support, the dream that once felt so distant is now something I continue to pursue with confidence and gratitude.
